Mrs. Johnna Steenkolk 3rd Grade Teacher

I've been teaching in the Centralia School District for over 25 years, currently teach third grade. In that time, I've had the privilege of helping generations of students build strong foundations in reading, writing, and math while nurturing their natural curiosity.

I believe every child learns differently, and that a classroom should feel like a safe place to take risks, ask questions, and grow — both academically and as a person. I strive to build genuine relationships with my students, meeting them where they are and encouraging them to take ownership of their learning. Third grade is especially rewarding to me because it's the age when students start thinking more independently, and I love watching that confidence take shape.
